Nothing says summer quite like a scoop of homemade peach cobbler ice cream. This recipe combines creamy vanilla ice cream, buttery cinnamon peaches, and a crunchy homemade oat cobbler topping to create the ultimate frozen dessert. Every bite tastes like warm peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream all wrapped into one irresistible treat.

Unlike store bought peach ice cream, this homemade version is packed with real peaches that are gently cooked with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until perfectly soft and jammy. The buttery cobbler crumble adds the perfect crunch, making every spoonful taste like a slice of fresh peach cobbler straight from the oven.

The best part, it’s surprisingly easy to make with an ice cream maker. While there are a few components, each one comes together quickly, and the final result is absolutely worth the effort. Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue, celebrating peach season, or simply craving a homemade frozen dessert, this recipe is guaranteed to become a family favorite.

The vanilla ice cream base is rich and creamy thanks to heavy cream and whole milk, while just enough cane sugar keeps the sweetness balanced so the peaches can truly shine. As the ice cream churns, ribbons of cinnamon peaches are folded throughout, creating beautiful swirls of fruit in every scoop. Once layered with more peaches and homemade cobbler crumble, the ice cream freezes into the perfect scoopable consistency.

For the best flavor, choose ripe peaches that are fragrant and slightly soft to the touch. Fresh summer peaches provide the sweetest flavor, but if peaches are out of season, frozen peaches work well too after thawing.

This peach cobbler ice cream is delicious on its own, but it’s also incredible served inside a waffle cone, topped with whipped cream, or alongside an extra slice of warm peach cobbler. If you’re entertaining, serve it in small dessert glasses with extra crumble sprinkled over the top for an elegant presentation.

After freezing overnight, the flavors continue to develop, making the ice cream even better the next day. Store leftovers in an airtight freezer-safe container for up to two weeks, although chances are it won’t last that long!

If you’re looking for a homemade ice cream recipe that captures everything you love about summer desserts, this peach cobbler ice cream is the one to make. Creamy, fruity, buttery, and filled with crunchy cobbler topping, it’s the perfect combination of two classic desserts in one unforgettable treat.

Homemade Peach Cobbler Ice Cream

  • Author: Sweta Patel
  • Total Time: 40
  • Yield: 1½ quarts (6 cups) or 10–12 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale

Ice Cream Base

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup cane sugar
  • ½ tablespoon vanilla extract

Cinnamon Peach Filling

  • 3 ripe peaches, peeled and diced
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Cobbler Crumble

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup butter, cut into small cubes
  • ½ cup old-fashioned rolled oats

Instructions

1: Make the Ice Cream Base

In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, milk, and cane sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves and the mixture just begins to simmer. Do not let it boil.

Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let the mixture cool completely before churning.

Step 2: Cook the Peaches

In another saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced peaches and cook for 5–7 minutes until they begin to soften.

Stir in the brown sugar and cinnamon. Continue cooking until the peaches become tender and syrupy. Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Allow to cool completely.

Step 3: Make the Cobbler Crumble

Preheat your oven to 350°F.

In a bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, butter, and rolled oats. Mix until crumbly.

Spread onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until golden brown. Cool completely.

Step 4: Churn the Ice Cream

Pour the cooled ice cream base into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

During the last few minutes of churning (about 15–17 minutes total), slowly spoon in half of the cooked peach mixture.

Step 5: Layer & Freeze

Transfer one layer of ice cream into a loaf pan or freezer-safe container.

Top with some of the remaining peach mixture and a generous sprinkle of cobbler crumble. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used. Freeze for 3–6 hours, or overnight for the best texture. Scoop, serve, and enjoy every creamy, peach-filled bite!
