Its’s finally here!!! I will say after 6 crazy attempts and so what felt like so many trial and errors, I can finally say this recipe is fool proof and BOMB.COM.

Seriously it’s better then take out and much healthier too, you can definitely prep this meal in advance like I do and always double the recipe as well, if you want leftover or even want to meal prep for the week.

Now if you’re a vegetarian or just want a meat-less week night meal you can simply replace the chicken with tofu! Serve this with white rice or my garlic fried rice.

Chicken & Broccoli in Garlic Sauce

Ingredients

Chicken Marinade

  • 2 chicken breast cut into 1 ½-inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 3 tsp sriracha
  • 1 tsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp black pepper

Brown Garlic Sauce

  • ½ cup chicken or veggie broth
  •  cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar or honey
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic 5-7 garlic cloves
  • ½ tbsp rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sriracha
  • 1 tsp toasted sesame oil
  • 1 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 2 tsp cornstarch

Broccoli Stir Fry

  • 4 cups broccoli florets cut into bite size pieces
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp ginger grated
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions

Chicken Marinade

  1. Add all the ingredients into a bowl and whisk it together. Next add the chicken and coat everything together. Set aside at room temp.

Brown Garlic Sauce

  1. In a bowl combine everything together and set aside.

Broccoli Stir Fry

  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat up the oil and add the broccoli and ginger, cook for 2-3 mins on high heat and add the water and cover with a lid, let the broccoli steam and cook through. Once broccoli is cooked, transfer into a bowl and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet or wok over med-high heat, add some oil. Once the oil is hot add in the chicken and cook until golden brown for 2-3 mins.
  3. Next add in the sauce and birng to a low simmer. Once the sauce comes to a simmer add in the broccoli and give everything a good mix.
  4. Serve immediately with white rice and enjoy!

Notes

  • You can replace chicken breast with thighs as well.
  • Replace chicken with tofu but just omit the baking soda.
  • Baking soda really helps to tenderize the chicken, its a step you don’t want to skip.
  • You can marinated the chicken the night before and chop the broccoli as well to save you time.
  • Serve with white rice, fried rice, brown rice or even quinoa.

Made this today and it is so so good!! The baking soda made the chicken so tender and the sauce is delicious.

Hi – How many servings is this supposed to be? Two chicken breasts can vary wildly in weight so how much chicken is this? Thanks!
