This easy Maple Pecan Danish is made with frozen puff pastry, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a vanilla icing drizzle that makes for the perfect sweet breakfast or dessert recipe.

When you want a little sweet, spice, and everything nice, you have to turn to fall flavors. There’s something about autumn spices that gives you a cozy feeling – inside and out. Maple and pecan are two of those quintessential fall flavors.

It’s also a great recipe to add to your Thanksgiving spread. The best part is that you can make it in about 30 minutes. So, whether you’re trying to figure out what to bring to a potluck or what non-basic recipe to make for guests, this is a good choice.

If you’re anything like me, you’ll love this recipe because it is like a cinnamon roll on steroids! The sweet maple and pecan flavors mix really well with the vanilla glaze, but you get the added texture of the flakey, buttery puff pastry.

In fact, it’s one of the reasons I love frozen puff pastry so much; it’s so versatile and easy to use! I always have puff pastry sheets in my freezer because they can be used in so many ways. You can make savory recipes like Sweet Potato Curry Puffs or sweet recipes like this one.

Why I Love This Recipe

This Maple Pecan Puff Pastry Braid is such an easy recipe for beginners because you can make everything in one bowl before assembling the puff pastry. The oven does all the hard work for you!

I also love that you can have it hot or at room temperature. I mean, if that isn’t a win win then I don’t know what is.

As always, I try to make recipes that are easy to make your own! For this recipe, you can use chopped pecans or swap them out for a nut of your choice. You could add almonds on top for an additional crunch, or toast your nuts first before adding them, you could even get caramelized pecans!

Whether you make the recipe as is or experiment a little, remember to have fun with it. Puff pastry recipes have so many possibilities and can help build your confidence in the kitchen if you’re in a funk. They’re also a great recipe to make with friends, family, or even kids.
