Ginger bread loaf with orange maple glaze

Ginger bread loaf is pretty much a cozy hug we all need! The warm spices and the taste of gingerbread + orange maple glaze is a Christmas party in your mouth! I enjoyed this with a hot cut of coffee but you can totally make this has a holiday dessert instead and serve it with some hot coco!

Ingredients

Gingerbread loaf

  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup apple sauce
  • 1&½ cup flour
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground clove
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

Orange maple glaze

  • 1 cup powered sugar
  • 1 tsp freshly grated orange zest
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp milk

Instructions

Gingerbread loaf

  • Preheat ove to 350°F and line or spray your bread loaf pan with non stick cooking spray - set aside.
  • In a bowl, add melted butter and sugar, combine until its well incorporated. Next add the egg, apple sauce, spices and baking soda. Mix mix mix!
  • Add the flour and using a rubber spatula, fold everything in until well incorporated. Transfer batter into the bread loaf pan and bake for 45 mins or until the center is cooked.

Orange maple glaze

  • Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and whisk until you have no lumps and smooth free consistency. Once the bread is done baking, pour glaze over the bread and enjoy!
