Pimento Cheese Poppers

Pimento cheese poppers made with fresh spicy jalapeños creamy pimento cheese dip, spices all covered in breadcrumbs and air fried to perfection.

If you’ve ever lived in the south or came for a visit you already know pimento cheese is the caviar of the south! Its the one thing I will never say no to, I love adding it to my burgers, dipping my chips in it and also a must have on all my charcuterie boards! If you don’t know what pimento cheese is, let me fill you in on this goodness!! A creamy dip made with sour cream, cream cheese, cheddar cheese, pimento peppers and spices all mixed into a dip or a spread that you can use on anything even jalapeño poppers!!

For this recipe I used my easy pimento cheese recipe but you can use store bought as well.

Ingredients

  • 12 jalapenos
  • 6oz cream cheese
  • 3 tbsp pimento cheese dip *See notes °
  • 2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp taco seasoning
  • cup panko bread crumbs

Instructions

  • Wash and slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise. Using a small spoon, scoop out the seeds. Place the jalapeños in the air fryer for 5 mins on 350°F.
  • In a bowl mix cream cheese and all the spices and pimento cheese dip. Fill each jalapeño with the cheese mixture.
  • In a separate bowl, add Panko crumbs and dip each jalapeño upside in the bowl to fully cover it in bread crumbs.
  • Place in the air fryer basket and spray with a little cooking oil and air fry for 7 minutes at 400°F. Serve with ranch or any sauce of choice.

Notes

  • Pimento peppers are located in the condiments section of the grocery store, they come jarred.
  • You can use the extra filled for more jalapeños or use as a dip! 
  • You can add scallions and other herbs like parsley and cilantro if you like.
  • Grilling these peppers are easy, just place them on the grill on med-high heat for 6-10 mins until peppers are a little charred and bread crumbs are brown and toasty.
