Salted Caramel

- Into a sauce pan, melt the ghee and whisk in the heavy whipping cream on medium heat.
- Next add in the dry milk powder and whisk everything in until it’s well incorporated and you have zero lumps.
- Add in the sugar and ground cardamom and using a wooden or silicone spatula, mix everything together. Turn off heat and transfer burfi mixture into a 9×9 greased baking sheet. Grease it with ghee. Evenly flatten out the mixture into the baking tray and set in the fridge.
Salted Caramel
- In a sauce pan, melt the sugar on med high heat for 2-3 mins. Add in the butter and mix it in.
- Once everything is fully dissolved, turn the heat to low and add in the heavy whipping cream.
- Add vanilla extract and sea salt. mix until everything is well combined and drizzle it over the burfi.
Notes
- If you really want to get fancy, melt some chocolate and throw it in a ziplock bag and snip a tiny hole in the corner, drizzle that chocolate over the salted caramel burfi!
- I usually love to sprinkle on the sea salt once the salted caramel has harden a tiny bit, but this is totally optional and you can add it into the caramel beforehand.
