- Sliced sourdough
- 2–4 slices of Boards head Herbed Italian mozzarella
- Pesto
- Calabrian chili paste
- Fresh mozzarella
- Thinly sliced red onions
- Sliced tomatoes
- Arugula
- Grated pecorino cheese or Parmesan
- Balsamic Glaze
- 1/2 tsp each of : sea salt + oregano
- 1 – 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Spread pesto on one slice of the bread, and Calabrian chili on the other.
- Start layering the sandwich and add sliced mozzarella cheese from the deli, onions and tomatoes.
- Sprinkle sea salt and oregano on top of the tomatoes and add freshly sliced mozzarella on top along with arugula and some grated pecorino cheese.
- Drizzle on the balsamic glaze on top and close the sandwich.
- On a hot skillet, add some butter and cook the sandwich for 1-2 mins on each side until it’s nice and golden brown. You can put another pan or something heavy on top to get a nice crispy and golden crust.
