Masala Biryani Rice

Ingredients

  • 2 bags of success boil in bag Basmati rice
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 dried red chiles
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 small red onion – sliced
  • 1 potato – sliced
  • 2 carrots – sliced
  • 1 bell pepper – sliced
  • 1/4 cup frozen peas
  • 3 tsp each: turmeric, cayenne pepper, ground cumin, ground coriander and salt
  • 2 cloves grated garlic
  • 1/4 cup – finely chopped cilantro

Instructions

  1. Boil the rice accordingly to package instructions.
  2. Into a large pot add oil and heat on medium high heat. Proceed to add the cumin seeds, bay leaf and dried red chiles. Cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add all the sliced veggies and cook for 2-3 mins and cover with a lid and lower the heat to medium.
  4. Add the spices along with garlic and give everything one good mix before adding in the rice.
  5. Once you add in the rice, mix everything together, garnish with cilantro and enjoy!
