- 1 package of extra firm tofu
- 1 jalapeño – sliced
- 1/4 cup scallions – sliced
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp rice wine vinegar
- 1 tsp toasted sesame seed oil
- 1 tbsp chili oil – I used momofuku chili oil
- 2 cloves garlic – grated
- 3 tsp neutral oil
Instructions
- Into a large bowl, fill with warm water and 1 tsp salt. Stir until salt is dissolved and add the cubed tofu. Let it sit for 10 mins.
- Drain the water and place the cubed tofu in the air fryer basket. Spray with a little cooking oil or even toasted sesame oil and air fryer at 380F for 7-10 mins until tofu is nice and golden brown.
- In a small bowl combine: sliced jalapeños, scallions, sesame seeds, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, sesame seed oil, chili oil and grated garlic.
- In a small sauce pan, heat up the neutral oil until its becomes very hot. Add the oil into the bowl with all of the ingredients and carefully stir until well combined.
- Add the tofu into the bowl as well, mix everything together until tofu is fully coated in the chili oil.
- Serve it with rice and enjoy!
