Brown sugar shaken espresso drinks have been gaining popularity among coffee lovers in recent years. The combination of espresso, brown sugar syrup, and ice creates a refreshing and indulgent drink that is perfect for warm days. In this blog post, we’ll provide you with easy and simple instructions on how to make a delicious brown sugar shaken espresso drink at home.

For this recipe I used my Nespresso Vertuo and so many of you ask if I love it, and how easy it is to use. First and foremost I do love it because the quality of coffee and espresso it makes its amazing. It’s fairly easy to use, just pop in a pod and press the button. Honestly the machine does all the work! Theres a bar code on each pod that is detected by the machine and tells it exactly how to brew it, at the perfect temperature and also the consistency.

I also love anything coffee related so my coffee bar is a special place in my kitchen. Everything from my coffee syrups to coffee mugs, you can find everything on my my shops page.

Step 1: Gather Your Ingredients

To make a brown sugar shaken espresso drink, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 2 shots of espresso
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup of ice
  • Milk of your choice

You can find brown sugar syrup at most grocery stores, or you can make your own by combining equal parts brown sugar and water in a saucepan and heating until the sugar has dissolved. I simply just used brown sugar that I already had.

Step 2: Brew Your Espresso

Brew two shots of espresso using your preferred method. You can use an espresso machine, a stovetop espresso maker, or a French press. If you don’t have an espresso machine, you can use strong brewed coffee instead.

Step 3: Make the Brown Sugar Syrup

If you didn’t purchase pre-made brown sugar syrup, you’ll need to make your own. Combine equal parts brown sugar and water in a saucepan and heat over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved. Allow the mixture to cool before using. This is optional, I did not make a simple syrup, instead I used brown sugar and added in 1 tbsp of vanilla bean syrup. If you don’t have vanilla bean syrup you can use vanilla extract as well.

Step 4: Shake It Up

Add the brown sugar syrup and ice to a cocktail shaker or a mason jar along with the cinnamon. Pour in the espresso and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds.

Step 5: Pour and Enjoy

Pour the mixture into a glass and enjoy as is, or add milk of your choice to create a creamy latte-like drink. You can also add whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon for an extra indulgent treat.

End result:

Making a brown sugar shaken espresso drink at home is quick and easy, and requires just a few simple ingredients. With these instructions, you’ll be able to create a delicious coffee drink that will impress your friends and family. So, next time you’re in the mood for a sweet and refreshing coffee beverage, give this recipe a try and enjoy your homemade drink!
