If you’ve been to Publix you already know about the “PUB SUB” and trust me if you have no idea what a pub sub is, this is going to change your world!

A pub sub is a staple in the south, fresh publix bread with an array of toppings and honestly anything and everything you can think of it. I personally love the buffalo chicken pub sub on a multigrain bread, but you can choose any bread, cheese of choice to make it fit your needs!

  • Total Time: 35
  • Yield: 2 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 chicken breast, pounded thinly
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp onion + garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt + pepper
  • 2 tbsp parmesan cheese
  • sub or hoagie bread
  • sliced cheese of choice
  • Any topping you prefer on your sandwich

Instructions

  1. Create a breading station in 3 separate bowls, egg, flour and panko breadcrumbs.
  2. Whisk the egg and set aside, to the flour and panko bread crumbs add all the seasonings listed above from ingredients list. Add the parmesan cheese only to the panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Coat the chicken in flour, egg and breadcrumbs. Place in a skillet over med/high heat with 1 tbsp butter and a drizzle of oil. Cook for 4 mins and turn and cover pan with lid, cook for another 4-5 min until chicken if fully cooked.
  4. Toast your bread with cheese and add a good layer of my buffalo ranch sauce and all the chicken and toppings. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For this reason I used my buffalo ranch sauce but you can use your favorite buffalo sauce of choice too.
  • Once the chicken was cooked I sprinkled a little bit of traders joes ranch seasoning to the chicken.
  • I used lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles and some sub oil when making this sandwich.
