Take your tastebuds on a trip with these flavor-packed Bang Bang Avocado Tacos with Sweet Chili Coleslaw. The perfect combination of crispy, saucy, and spicy, these vegetarian tacos are about to make you have Taco Tuesday every day.

There’s nothing like a crispy taco to end the night. Whether you’re warding off a hangover after a margarita too many (it happens to the best of us) or hosting some friends or family, these homemade tacos are exactly what you need.

Not only is this recipe perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a weekend gathering, but it is absolutely delicious. It doesn’t taste like it only takes 35 minutes at all! Seriously, this restaurant-style taco recipe will have you whipping out the tortillas every other day.

If you’re not a fan of meat or choose not to eat meat, you will love these avocado tacos because it is basically a vegetarian version of bang bang shrimp inside a delicious tortilla!

The best part about tacos is that you can use endless combinations of fillings. Whether you go for a classic Taco Bell bean filling with some lettuce and tomatoes or you want to get fancier, you can’t go wrong.

Now that we got that out of the way, I can tell you about how out of this world these Bang Bang Avocado Tacos are. Paired with the Sweet Chili Coleslaw, there’s nothing quite like it.

The key to getting the best avocado tacos is the panko-fried avocado slices. Since avocados can become extremely tender, it’s important to use avocado that is at the right stage of ripeness for this recipe.

Then, all you have to do is slice up your avocado and dip the slices into an egg white mixture and then into a spiced panko breadcrumb mix. Similar to how you might do with any other protein or meat, you can then shallow fry until golden brown.

And voila! You have the most perfect crispy fried avocados ever and they provide such a beautiful crunch to the taco that you will be melting into your seat. The avocados alone are reason enough to make this dish, I swear!

If you want to add some shrimp or a protein of your choice, you can always do so to give you a boost in this meal. However, avocado alone tastes just fine as well.

Of course, the signature bang bang sauce is the other major player in this taco recipe. This dressing is so addicting and combines beautifully with the crispy avocado.

What is Bang Bang?

“Bang bang” is a term used to describe a spicy, cream sauce that is often served at restaurants on top of shrimp, chicken, broccoli, and other ingredients. You may have even encountered it at the Cheesecake Factory, where they call it “Dynamite.”

Although the term is thought to have originated from Chinese-American cuisine, it is now used to describe pretty much any sauce or dish that is spicy and creamy. The sauce typically includes a variety of ingredients, such as mayonnaise, hot sauce, honey, and soy sauce.

It is a beautiful consistency that is used to add flavor and a little heat to dishes. It makes for a great topping or dipping sauce, so when you make this, don’t be afraid to make it in a big batch!

You may find bang bang sauce pre-made at your grocery store or local Asian market. Brands like Fisherman’s Kitchen and June Moon Spice have pretty decent options. However, the homemade version allows you to adjust everything to your liking, such as consistency, spice level, and more.
