Enjoy the satisfying taste of Asian spring rolls without the hassle and mess of deep frying. Made with crunchy vegetables and wrapped in a divinely crispy wrapper, these Quick & Easy Air Fryer Spring Rolls are perfect as a snack or a light meal.
If you’ve read my Chinese Masala Noodles recipe, you know that my sister makes some of the best homemade Asian foods ever. I mentioned that she would make those noodles with Spring Rolls, so I had to share the recipe with you because the two go so well together, you pretty much can’t have one without the other.
My sister’s Spring Rolls were phenomenal. She would use the leftover Chinese Masala Noodles, add some cabbage and a little bit of spring onions, and then roll it up in some wonton wrappers. They were honestly the best spring rolls I’ve had in my life!
However, I wanted to show you a simpler and a more traditional recipe that does not require noodles (though you can definitely add them in here for more interesting textures!).
This recipe is so easy because you can use store-bought wonton or spring roll wrappers, and the filling comes together within minutes. Plus, you don’t even have to cook the filling down all the way since you want this to be extremely crunchy.
In fact, the filling is only going to take you about seven minutes max. If you’re still short on time, you can buy pre-chopped coleslaw packs instead of buying an actual head of cabbage and chopping it. Sometimes, those pre-mixed coleslaws already have carrots in them too, which saves you from yet another vegetable to chop – which is a win-win in my books.
Although this recipe is already filled with a good mixture of vegetables and healthy ingredients, you can still add more to your filling, including protein! I used onion, cabbage, carrots, scallions, and garlic. Some other filling ideas include:
Crumbled tofu
Tiny shrimp
Shredded chicken, pork, or other protein of choice
Bean sprouts
Mushrooms
Lettuce
Cucumbers
Avocado
Mint
Vermiccelli noodles
I’m telling you: the possibilities are endless!
Why I Love These Quick & Easy Air Fryer Spring Rolls
My favorite thing about spring rolls are that no matter how you want to cook them – air fryer, shallow fry, or deep fry – you are going to get a beautifully crisp roll that is bursting with flavor. The most important thing is to get a really good quality wonton wrapper.
If you’re going to air fry these, be sure to brush them lightly with a little bit of oil all around before you put them in the air fryer. You want them to be perfectly crisp, but not dry. When you use the brushed oil method (you can also use a spray oil), you can ensure that the wonton wrappers have the little bit of moisture they need.
What’s great about the Air Fryer Spring Rolls is that they have the same crunch and flavor as any other cooking method, but without using as much oil. Healthy and delicious!
Another great tip is you can make these in advance, wrap them in wax paper, and put them into Ziploc bags to store in the freezer. This makes it so they will stay good for up to six months.
My sisters and I used to do this because there are many times where we just wanted to eat spring rolls without all the hassle.
When we had some additional time, we’d make the spring rolls so we could easily freeze it and quickly reheat it anytime we are ready to eat. Then, we only had to reheat for 30 minutes at room temperature and then fry it.
Of course, back then, we didn’t have air fryer, so pan frying was our only option, but now that we have air fryers, you can simply spray a little oil on them and then throw them straight in the air fryer at 380°F for six minutes. You’ll have the crispiest, most delicious spring rolls you’ve ever had ever had.
I highly recommend pairing these Quick & Easy Air Fryer Spring Rolls with my Dumpling Sauce.
In a pan, heat up the oil and chili oil over med/high heat. Next one by one add in all the veggies, the onions, carrots, cabbage and green onions.
Add the soy sauce, sriracha and toasted sesame seed oil. Cook everything down for 4 mins and add in salt + pepper and garlic. Give everything a good stir and set aside.
Place the spring roll wrapper on a flat surface so one of the four corners is facing toward you (it should look like a diamond). Use about two tablespoons of the filling. Roll the corner over the filling once, and gently press down on each side of the filling to flatten the spring roll wrapper.
Next, fold over both the left and right sides of the wrapper towards the middle. Wet your fingers in some water and gently brush it onto the opposite corner of the wrapper. Continue rolling the spring roll into a tight cigar, and place it sealed side down on in the air fryer.
Air Fry at 380F for 4-6 mins or until golden brown. Enjoy!

Hi! this looks so delicious. Question: so, these are air fried before freezing? When they come out of the freezer, they’re thawed and served as is at room temperature? Or reheated? OR: Are the spring rolls assembled and frozen, then Thaw and air fried when needed and served, warm or cold? Thank you, can’t wait to try this!
Hi, you can air fry these before freezing, but if you are going to freeze a batch I recommend you don’t air fry or fry them. When you do want to take them out of the freezer and air fryer you do not need to thaw them. Add them directly into the airfryer and let it do all the work. Also these spring rolls are made to serve hot not cold since you are cooking the spring roll sheet to get it nice and crispy.
Just an East/West coast girl living the southern life. I love sharing all my tested and perfected recipes here, along with some travel guides and a little bit of my lifestyle
