Ingredients<\/h3>
  • 1<\/span> package <\/span> puff pastry<\/span><\/li>
  • \u00bc<\/span> cup <\/span> freshly grated parmesan cheese <\/span><\/li>
  • Boursin cheese <\/span> or any creamy cheese * see notes <\/span><\/li>
  • 1<\/span> egg <\/span> *optional <\/span><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n

    Instructions<\/h3>
    • Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Arrange racks in upper and lower thirds of oven; preheat to 400<\/strong><\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Dust the surface lightly with flour and unfold or unroll puff pastry on the surface. Roll out lightly with a rolling pin to smooth creases, then cut pastry in half crosswise<\/strong><\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Spread a layer of the cheese and sprinkle the grated cheese on top.<\/strong><\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Place second sheet of puff pastry over top, aligning edges, and press gently to flatten. Using a rolling pin, flatten out the puff pastry sheet just a little bit.<\/strong><\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Using your knife, cut rectangle into \u00bd"-thick strips. For fewer straws that are longer, cut lengthwise. For more straws that are shorter (and easier to handle), cut crosswise.<\/strong><\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Transfer to prepared sheets and twist 2 ends in opposite directions several times. Repeat, spacing twists about 1" apart, until you\u2019ve used all the pastry and filled both sheets.<\/strong><\/span>
      <\/div>Optional: You can brush on the egg wash and sprinkle more parmesan cheese on top.<\/span><\/div><\/li>
    • Bake for 15-20 mins until it's golden brown.<\/strong><\/span><\/div><\/li><\/ul><\/div><\/div>\n
