I’m not sure who needs to hear this but, a watermelon Margaritas may be one of my favorite drinks this summer! Not only is it so refreshing but, the combination of sweet watermelon and anejo tequila really completes this drink! I used Anejo tequila which is a smokier flavor of tequila but you can your favorite tequila for this recipe as well.

Easy Watermelon Margarita
Servings: 2 people
Ingredients
- 4 ounces watermelon juice *see notes
- 1 ounce lime juice sliced into wedges
- 1 ounce agave or simple syrup
- 2 ounces tequila of choice
- 1 ounce orange liqueur such as Triple Sec or Cointreau
- margarita salt or sea salt
- ice
Instructions
- Cut watermelon into small cubes, add them in the jar of a blender. Process until smooth. Strain watermelon puree through a fine mesh sieve if you want a smoother consistency. I personally didn’t strain mine, it was still so good.
- Rim the margarita glass with salt, you can replace salt with sugar or tajin.
- Add all ingredients to the cocktail shaker cover and shake vigorously for at least 20 seconds. Pour margarita into prepared glass. Enjoy!
Notes
- You can also use diced frozen watermelon for a frozen Margarita.
- Non alcoholic watermelon margarita: Offer fresh watermelon juice with any number of mix-ins, including lemon lime soda, watermelon or lime flavored seltzer water or even club soda.
- Make ahead instructions: Prepare the watermelon juice and refrigerate up to three days in advance. When ready to make a margarita, dump ingredients into shaker and serve over ice.
