Welcome to my Food Heaven

I am the founder and creative behind The Table of Spice. Although I have many titles, such as cookbook author, photographer, recipe developer, and more, I am most proud of my role as a home cook.

I started this blog as an outlet for my kitchen experiments after leaving the biomedical corporate world. I moved from New England to Savannah, Georgia with my husband and ended up with a big kitchen far away from home, a love for cooking, and, well, a hungry husband.

Without family close by, I missed my mom’s cooking, like, a lot

She was the one that gave me my passion for cooking. My mom could always have fun in the kitchen and she got such immense joy from serving others home-cooked meals. I learned so much about the beauty of South Asian cooking and other cuisines from my mom.

She showed me that cooking didn’t need to be this super tedious chore. Whether you’re cooking out of a dorm room or a gourmet kitchen, you can create delicious and easy dishes that will make everyone gather around to spend time together.

Growing up, my mom would always make sure we ate at the dinner table together every single day. Even if we didn’t want to eat food, we still had to sit at the table and give everyone company. (I think this is where I get my entertaining side from).

I knew that when I launched this blog in 2018, I had to share what I learned from my mom: how to have fun in the kitchen and make fuss-free, so-simple-it-hurts meals to share with people you love.

The Table of Spice is about inspiring yourself to get in the kitchen and not only cook but learn something new. I want you to find comfort in the kitchen, and most importantly, find joy in the process.

No matter your age, where you live, or what you’re good at, this blog is a safe space for you to discover something new and realize you can do anything you put your mind to.

Whether it’s making a fun, fusion Indian dessert or an entire Thanksgiving meal that tastes better than any Michelin-star restaurant, or even organizing your kitchen space – I want to share all my wins so they can become your wins too.
